This calculator turns your monthly electricity bill into a real solar savings estimate. Most online calculators just multiply your bill by a random percentage. This one works backward from your actual usage: it takes your bill and rate, figures out how many kilowatt-hours you use each month, then sizes a solar system that could realistically cover that usage based on how much sun your specific city gets.

The sun hour data behind this tool comes from long-term irradiance averages, not a flat national number. A home in Phoenix and a home in Seattle can have identical bills but need very different system sizes, because Phoenix gets nearly double the peak sun hours.
